So the guy working the desk created a dummy one, and it pretty much only had my name on it- the rest was just "same as last contract" written all over the sheet. They filled out a slip of paper and said try this! I said no, I need a copy of a contract. Which was weird because they were taking my money every month. When I went to get my contract info for my health insurance reimbursement and ask about canceling my membership (not at the Boston location), they had no records of me on file. TL DR: You might want to try going there to get a copy. Somehow they maintain an A+ BBB rating, which isn't proof of how much of a joke the BBB is and why no one should care what they say I don't know what is. I'm glad you were able to cancel with no issues, but I'm far from alone in my experience with them:Īnecdotally I have several family members/friends/acquaintances who also had bad experiences with them. I probably have upwards of twenty calls with them trying to resolve this and was often told completely contradictory things by different reps on different days, was told by 'managers' they were noting my account only to have someone a week later claim there is no record of me calling in etc etc. I just couldn't muster the energy to pursue things any further, it wasn't worth the $40-160 I could have potentially gotten back. Two months later they finally refund two months of fees. I was tired of arguing with them at that point and agreed. In total I paid for seven months past when I originally sent the registered letter and even though I eventually got someone there to admit that it should have been cancelled correctly (since I had the proof a registered letter was sent) they could only refund me three months of fees. It took me over three months to cancel once I realized they were still charging me three months after I had originally cancelled my membership (young and dumb and didn't always check my statements closely back then.)
